I was on the West Side Highway, coming back from teaching a motorcycle safety course, when this group got on and two riders in front slowed down traffic. They took over all the lanes, with some guys doing wheelies. There were quads (illegal on the street), and many riders had no helmet, or illegal ones that would not protect them in a crash. Wheelies are awesome in a controlled environment — but not so close to other drivers. It’s awful that one rider was paralyzed. But even as a fellow rider, I feel these guys were asking for it.
